Danielle Exits NewJeans as Ador Ends Contract Amid Ongoing Legal Dispute
Danielle has officially exited K-pop group NewJeans after Ador terminated her contract, citing an irreparable breakdown in trust.

K-pop group NewJeans is facing another major turning point following the official termination of Danielle’s contract by Ador.
In a statement released Monday in Korean, the label confirmed that it would be “difficult for her to continue as a NewJeans member and Ador artist,” effectively ending her role in the group.
Ador further announced plans to pursue legal action against former CEO Min Hee-jin and a member of Danielle’s family, alleging they played a key role in escalating the dispute and preventing Danielle’s return to group activities.
The conflict traces back to November 2024, when all members of NewJeans declared their contracts terminated, citing workplace harassment and broader management concerns, including the removal of Min Hee-jin from her CEO position.
Despite Ador disputing the legality of the move, the group began operating independently.
During this period, NewJeans launched a separate Instagram account, participated in social activism by providing food to protestors in South Korea, rebranded themselves as NJZ, and appeared at international events such as ComplexCon Hong Kong in March.
In response, Ador sought legal intervention. In January, the label filed an injunction to stop the group’s independent activities.
The Seoul Central District Court approved the request on March 21, just days before the Hong Kong performance. The ruling imposed a financial penalty of 1 billion won per member for each unauthorized activity beginning May 30.
The legal pressure intensified on October 30, when the same court ruled that NewJeans’ exclusive contracts with Ador remained legally binding. Although the group’s legal team announced plans to appeal, the court’s decision strengthened Ador’s position.
In a follow-up statement, the members acknowledged the ruling but emphasized that the breakdown of trust made a return to Ador impossible. They maintained that continuing normal entertainment activities under the label was no longer feasible.
With Danielle now officially removed, the future of NewJeans remains uncertain as legal appeals continue and the dispute between the group and their former management shows no clear resolution.
