A former Information Commissioner in Adamawa, Ahmad Sajoh said President Muhammadu Buhari’s Independence Day speech kept the “flame of hope burning”.
Sajoh stated that President proved unwavering commitment to provide quality leadership in the country.
The ex-government official spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Maiduguri.
He described Buhari as honest and down to earth for accepting that the past 18 months were difficult for everyone.
“That is the mark of a committed leader, accepting challenges of the moment demonstrates a commitment to solving them.”
The theme of the address, according to him, was the hope expressed that Nigeria will overcome its problems.
Sajoh added that Buhari did well by giving an account of COVID-19 efforts and measures adopted to combat the pandemic.
“The president really kept the flame of hope burning, that was the essence of the speech and the message that came to the fore,” he said.
Sajoh urged Nigerians to be more patriotic, committed and support the leadership to further build a prosperous nation.
