The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command, on Wednesday, averted what could have resulted into a bloodbath in a Fulani family in Ikoroku area of Kaiama Local Government Area of the state.
A statement by the spokesman of the command, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, in Ilorin on Wednesday, said trouble started over the death of one Alhaji Bello.
According to the spokesman, “We got a report from our divisional office in Kaiama, after the death of one Alhaji Bello, his younger brother took his wife, which did not go down well with the children of the deceased.
“They accused their uncle of complicity in the death of their father.”
The spokesman said the children of the late Alhaji Bello, vowed to take back their father’s wife from their uncle and this later led to a free bloody for all fight.
“As the matter escalated, one Babbi Aliyu, was attacked with cutlass leaving him with multiple injuries on his nose and started bleeding profusely,” the spokesman added.
He further stated that the operatives of the civil defence corps got a distress call and rushed to the scene to prevent further attack.
