Eid-el-Kabir: Abstain from vices that may jeopardise Nigeria’s existence – NSCIA tells Nigerians


The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Oyo State branch, has enjoined Nigerians to henceforth, abstain from all vices that may jeopardise the existence of the country.

NSCIA urged the leaders and the led to always be at the forefront of issues that will unite the country and not issues that will divide it.

NSCIA state Chairman, Alhaji Ustaz Dapo Yusuf, in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday, enjoined Muslims to uphold the spirit of self sacrifice.

Yusuf in the statement sent to DAILY POST by Shaikh Salahuddeen Busairi, Secretary-General, NSCIA, also advised Muslims to use the period of Eld-el-Kabir to pray for lasting peace in the state.

He also urged residents to continue to show love to each other.

He also advised leaders in the country to lead by example.

“Both the leaders and the led are enjoyed to abstain from all forms of vices and live up to the noble teachings of the religion of Submission of Oneself to the Will of Allah (Islam).

“All hands should be on deck to bring about the all important peace and security in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.

“All to show love and mercy to our neighbours no matter where they come from,” the statement read.

“We enjoy all, especially the Muslims to uphold the spirit of self sacrifice which is the core message of the Great Festival of Sacrifice (Eidul-Adha).

“We pray Allah The Almighty to bless our leaders and the led with the fear of Allah as shown in the exemplary manners of the principal actors, Prophet Ibrahim and his son, Prophet Ismail in the story of how we came about the annual celebration of the Festival of Sacrifice (Eidul-Adha).”
