Hundreds of commuters plying the Ibadan/ Eruwa road in Oyo State on Thursday were stranded following the blockage of roads by trailers.

Our correspondent gathered that the commuters plying the road were surprised to meet trailers packed across the road, obstructing movement.

The roadblock according to the commuters followed public outcry over the poor state of the road.

Some of those who spoke with DAILY POST maintained that they had spent several hours on the road.

Some portions of the road immediately after road safety has been damaged, DAILY POST observed.

Commuters either going to Eruwa from Ibadan or coming to Ibadan from Eruwa to continue their journey has now been denied access on the road.

One of the stranded commuters said the situation has not changed since 6am on Thursday.

“Behold the situation at Eruwa-Ibadan road. Traders, travellers stranded. This is close Ido.

“Since 6.00am, the situation is at a stand still”.

Another commuter said, “The road was blocked after Ido garage.

“It was totally blocked in the morning. It was the trailers that blocked the road”.
