The expulsion of Yola South Local Government Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu, for criticising President Muhammadu Buhari at a meeting a few weeks ago has been ratified by the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).
In a statement by the National Secretary, Senator James Akpanudoedehe, on Thursday noted that Adamu’s expulsion takes immediate effect.
The embattled LG chairman allegedly criticised Buhari in a video that went viral, a situation that was considered unwholesome of a party chairman by the national officers.
Akpanudoedehe pointed out that the expulsion was a decision reached at the 16th meeting of the CECPC held at the party’s National Secretariat on Wednesday in Abuja.
The statement said: “Recall the viral video in which Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu made unwholesome utterances on President Muhammadu Buhari, the leader of the party.
“Be was also found guilty of bringing the image of the party to disrepute thereby creating doubt on his leadership quality and loyalty to the party”, the statement said.
